Living Dead Gurl

Fri Feb 27, 2009, 4:57 PM
Since I am new to Deviant Art I thought it would be good to introduce the Living Dead Gurl series with some information about what Living Dead Gurl is.

I started the Living Dead Gurl series while doing a experimental photo shoot with model Andrea Eve at a haunted house being produced in a funeral home. The pics were taken using a digital video camera and pulling stills from the footage in our editing program. Although poor quality and tough to work with, some images came out very unique. We used bruise stock makeup to give some effects and a "dead" look to her. We were able to use some images, while others were not so visually appealing. After 4 years, we have done a few more shoots, with some different types of cameras, mainly experimenting, and with trail and error periods with photoshop, we were able to get some pretty good images. As people saw these images, an interest grew, and the decision to create a website and make an ongoing series of Living Dead Gurl was made. So, here we are! As you browse through the works, you'll notice some of a very low quality, those are likely the images taken from the video footage. Hopefully you can at least appreciate the unique nature of those specific images. Thank you for viewing these images and let us know what you think!!
